Upstate Elite CommunityWe Believe - Because You BelieveHow To Blog: ***Please read the bottom of this page and check out some examples of blogs. The main point of having a blog is for you to write about things and check out other blogs . Do not get caught up in the software, etc... This is not facebook or myspace, this is a place where you can write about anything you want!! Share links to your favorite sites.
Rules: Lets keep the language clean - Please use the spell check tool, and write as proper as you can. Another words, try not to use IM or phone text language: Try not to use things such as: u or ttys or u2 etc... Write out the words - you - talk to you soon - you too, etc... Login and go to site admin: Go to options, under the general section make sure the membership button is checked. If this is not checked you will get lots of spam comments. Which is people putting advertising on your comments. This section also allows you to change your blog title. Write This is where you can write your blog. This program does not allow you to upload files. Your writing will not show up until you hit publish. Do not worry about all the things below the blog. We want you to read and write, do not mess with all the things below your main writing section. You can embed pictures from other sources. I added a picture to this blog. Type in <img src="http://www.the location of your picture .com/picture.jpg " />
page is like an about me page. The link will always be visible on your sidebar. categories you can add a category so that every time you write a blog you can group it into a category as well. So if you write about sports a lot, you can add a sports category and then when you write a new blog click the sports tab. This way if you put a category widget in your sidebar, a reader could click sports from your blog. Thus showing all your posts related to sports. do not worry about import and export
Comments self explanatory: a place to edit things related to comments to your blogs Blogroll a place where you can create a link section. You can create a category like sports and put all your favorite sport website links in there. This will show up on your sidebar. Presentation Themes This is where you can choose the look of your website. I will try to add more themes here and there. Widgets: These are add ons that will show up on your sidebar on every page. You can edit the widgets such as links. And add a link to show up on your blog. Try them out and play with them. Recent posts will show all your recent posts, etc... Users Authors and Users you can adjust users here, you really should not add any users, etc... you will be safe if you just write blogs and read others. Your Profile I would not mess around with this section, you can change your nickname here that is visible on posts. Groups Groups is a way for me the administrator to keep track of contests if we do any. There are no groups right now, I could create some and let people join the group. It is a way for me to count the number of members. Invite Use this feature, invite your teachers, parents, friends or anyone to check out your blog. All you need is their email address. Options As noted above make sure you have the comment section checked. All the topics listed is self explanatory. I would not change much at all and do not hit delete blog - it will remove your blog. What is a blog? A blog is where one can write about their thoughts, ideas, or a topic that interest them. A few examples of famous blogs: Blog Maverick: A blog written by the NBA Dallas Maverick's owner Mark Cuban. His is a simple blog that draws a lot of attention, because he talks about running his team, or from time to time will say something controversial about the referees or the NBA.
